๐Ÿ›ก Armor Care & Maintenance

Your ISH Collection armor is handcrafted from real steel using traditional forging techniques. With proper care, it will maintain its strength, finish, and appearance for decades.

This guide explains simple, proven steps to keep your armor in excellent condition.

๐Ÿ”ง Protective Oil & Initial Care

All steel armor is shipped with a light protective oil coating to prevent oxidation during transit.

  • Upon receiving your armor, gently wipe off excess oil using the soft cloth provided

  • Do not use water, harsh chemicals, or abrasive materials

  • A thin oil layer should remain on the surface for long-term protection

โœ” This is a normal and essential part of steel armor care.

๐Ÿงผ Cleaning Your Armor

For regular cleaning:

  • Use a dry or lightly oiled soft cloth

  • Remove fingerprints, moisture, or dust after handling

  • For stubborn marks, apply a small amount of light machine oil or mineral oil

โŒ Avoid:

  • Water soaking

  • Chemical cleaners

  • Steel wool or rough pads

๐ŸŒฌ Storage Guidelines

Proper storage is critical for preserving steel armor.

  • Store in a dry, low-humidity environment

  • Keep away from damp basements or direct moisture

  • Avoid sealed plastic bags โ€” allow airflow

  • If storing long-term, lightly oil the surface before storage

โœ” For display, ensure the area remains dry and well-ventilated.

๐Ÿ”ฉ Leather, Straps & Chainmail Care

If your armor includes leather straps or chainmail:

Leather Components

  • Keep leather dry

  • Apply leather conditioner occasionally to prevent cracking

  • Do not oil leather with metal oils

Chainmail

  • Light oiling helps prevent rust

  • Wipe gently after use or display

โš” Handling & Usage

ISH Collection armor is designed for:

  • Display

  • Costume & cosplay

  • LARP

  • Reenactment

โš  Not intended for real combat or impact sports unless specifically stated.

Always handle with care and avoid dropping or striking hard surfaces.

๐Ÿ›  Maintenance Over Time

  • Periodically inspect rivets, straps, and fittings

  • Tighten loose fittings if needed

  • Minor surface oxidation can be removed with light oil and a soft cloth

Proper care ensures your armor ages with character โ€” not damage.
